“The Sella Kataragama Ganapati temple was flooded as the nearby Menik River spilled over due to the heavy rains experienced in the region over the past few weeks.,

This temple, known as Gage Temple, floods annually during the rainy season when the water level of the Manik Gage rises.

However currently, the water level in the Menik River is slowly decreasing.

Janaka Dissanayake Sami, the head priest of the Ganesh Temple, said that the poojas would be performed temporarily on the banks of the Menik River for devotees.
