S. Thomas’ College and Hameed Al Husseinie College entered the final of the Oxford President’s Cup 2024 Challenge Trophy at the 14th inter-school Invitation football tournament organized by the Group of 80s of Hameed Al Husseinie College.

In the first semi final S. Thomas’s College beat Al Hilal Central College 6-1 and in the second semi final Hameed Al Husseinie College beat Gateway College 3 -0 to secure their places in the grand finale which is to be played at the Sugathadasa Stadium during the first week of March.
Football is fast catching up and returning to its once popular platform at school level and both team by earning places in the final have set the ball rolling for a new phase in youth development according to analyts. The Thomians in particular have not entered a major final in recent years and their emergence is likely to stir up more interest among the boys.
