Shooting calendar to flag off with Navy Open

The National Shooting Sport Federation of Sri Lanka (NSSF) will host 12 national level events in 2024 with the aim of selecting the cream of shooters for the ISSF World Cups and Paris Olympics.

The calendar for 2024 includes 12 competitions. In addition Sri Lankan shooters are slotted to represent the country at eight international events, with the core events being the two ISSF World Cups and the Olympic Games to be held in Paris, France from July 26 to August 11.

The NSSF Novices Air Gun Championship, which was to be held during the last week of February, has been rescheduled and the date will be confirmed in due course according to the NSSF.

But the 2024 events calendar will kick start the eighth Navy Open Shooting Championship to be held at the Naval Range in Welisara from March 16 to 22, a competition conducted by Sri Lanka Navy and sanctioned by the NSSF.

March 4th Week: NSSF Trap Open Championship at CTSCC Range, Payagala

May 2nd Week: NSSF Open Air Gun Championship at NSSF Range, Kohuwala

June 2nd Week: NSSF Open 25m and 50m Championship at SLNS, Gemunu Range, Welisara

August 2nd Week: NSSF Skeet National Championship at CTSCC Range, Payagala

August 5th Week: NSSF Trap National Championship at CTSCC Range, Payagala

September 2nd Week: NSSF Youth and Junior Air Gun Championship at NSSF Range,Kohuwala

October 3rd Week: Athugala Youth and Junior Air Gun Championship at Athugala SSC Range

November 3rd Week: NSSF Air Gun National Championship at NSSF Range, Kohuwala

December 2nd Week: NSSF National 25m and 50m Championship at SLNS, Gemunu Range, Welisara

International events for 2024

February 24-March 6: 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok, Thailand

April 22-30: ISSF Final Qualification, Shotgun, in Doha, Qatar

May 31-June 7: ISSF World Cup (Rifle/Pistol) in Munich, Germany

June 10-19: ISSF World Cup (Shotgun) in Lonato, Italy

July 26-August 11: Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, France
