Cinnamon Nature Trails, the eco-tourism and excursions arm of Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts launched its eco-excursion expertise in the heart of Colombo to introduce the true essence of the destination.

A collection of five carefully crafted experiences by in- house naturalists to unveil the city’s natural diversity and marvels while championing sustainable tourism practices. This was revealed at a media briefing at Cinnamon Grand Hotel on Thursday.

The guided tour is open for people who love to discover and explore the diversity of the City of Colombo. The five urban eco-tourism experiences offered by Cinnamon Nature Trails include ‘Zookeeper for the Day’, a volunteering experience with inner workings of the Zoo. The tourists will get the opportunity to engage closely with the animals and the Zoo staff and gain invaluable insights into their daily lives.

The second tour is ‘Birding in the Wetlands’. Here, the tourists can explore the rich avian diversity thriving in the nearby waterways and marshlands, just moments away from Colombo’s hustle and bustle.

‘Treewalk in the Heart of the City’ will be Cinnamon’s third eco-tourism experience. Travelers will be guided with the well experienced tour guides at Nature Trails to uncover the hidden gems within the gardens of a prominent cathedral, with a collection of rare and valuable trees. The fourth tour is ‘Spiritual Colombo’, where the visitors can find solace and tranquility in iconic religious sites in the City. The fifth and final on the list is ‘Street Photography’ which helps the tourists to witness the vibrant choreography of a million souls in Colombo, each passionately engaged in shaping their existence.

Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Colombo Hotels, Area Vice President Kamal Munasinghe said, “We are excited to launch these handpicked curated excursions that would promise an unforgettable experience through the heart of Colombo, from vibrant markets to serene nature reserves. With tourism on the rise and much of the international travellers craving for new experiences, these curated experiences will not only elevate guest stays but will also support in positioning Colombo as a destination that has so much more to offer for a traveller and through the eyes of our in-house team of naturalists.
