The World Tamil Chamber of Commerce has announced the second Annual International Tamil Information Technology Research Conference (ITITRC), set to take place on June 28 and 29at the Chennai Nandambakkam Trade Centre.

The event seeks to advance the use of Tamil in the digital realm, explore Internet Tamil, investigate the role of Tamil in technology development, and identify emerging talent in the Tamil community.

Supported by the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA) and the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), the ITITRC promises to be a pivotal platform for technology and innovation in Tamil Nadu. Despite Tamil Nadu’s position as the third-leading state in India’s IT sector, there remains a significant gap in Tamil language software development. This conference aims to address this gap while providing an inclusive platform for IT professionals, startups, and entrepreneurs.

With an annual software export industry worth US$ 2.25 billion and a domestic trade market valued at US$ 2.5 billion, Tamil Nadu’s Information Technology Department has set ambitious goals to double these figures in the next five years. The ITITRC will contribute to this effort by bringing together top IT companies, startups, computer hardware firms, software marketing companies and more.

The event will also host a range of activities, including panel discussions, keynote addresses by renowned experts, programming competitions, and symposia. Key topics will cover Tamil software development, input technology for mobile devices, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotics, Language Processing, Language Models, Digital Content Creation, Learning and Teaching Technologies, and e-Governance.

The ITITRC will serve as a vibrant networking platform, providing attendees with opportunities to explore career prospects, showcase innovations, and attract investment from major corporations. It also aims to lay the groundwork for the next wave of technological advancement in Tamil Nadu, fostering a supportive and collaborative ecosystem for IT professionals.
