Abdur Zaidh
Abdur Rahmaan Zaidh, a promising young boxer from Zahira College, Colombo displayed his prowess in the ring to clinch the title of best boxer Western Province Boxing Meet.
Zaidh has been honing his skills and showcasing his talent under the mentorship of Capt. R.K. Indrasena (rtd), a former national coach.
The meet served as a qualifier for the All Island L.V Jayaweera Championship for freshers.
Competing in the schoolboy weight category of 33-35kg, Zaidh consistently demonstrated his agility, strength and determination in every bout.
Zahira College’s performance at the meet further solidified Zaidh’s impact, with the team securing the overall runners-up position.
Despite fierce competition from schools like Vidyarathane University College, Horana and Nalanda College, Zahira stood out with an impressive tally of four gold medals and two bronze medals.
