Water

 Water is an important natural resource. We find water in tanks, lakes, rivers and oceans. People cannot live without water. Water, is important for humans such as for drinking, agriculture, electricity and transportation. Earth has 71 per cent of water. But we can use only 3% to drink. So, we should preserve water. Nowadays, water is being wasted and people throw garbage into tanks, rivers and the sea. In the past, people didn’t waste water or dirty it. They built tanks and developed agriculture. We say, Wew bandi rajya to Anuradhapura. King Parakramabahu declared not to waste even a drop of water. So, we must preserve water and use it judiciously.
