Anne of Green Gables

First Prize

Anne of Green Gables is one of the most interesting books I have read so far. It is written by Lucy Maud Montgomery and was first published in 1908. It is believed that Montgomery wrote this book using her unforgettable life experiences in Prince Edward Island. This novel tells us of the challenging life story of an orphaned girl named Anne Shirley. We can immerse our minds in a range of emotions such as happiness, sadness, sensitivity, excitement and enjoyment by reading this book. Marilla Cuthbert, Mathew Cuthbert, Anne Shirley, Gilbert Blythe and Diana Barry are the main characters in this book. I like this book because it is about a young girl who is almost my age, and also because it reveals the qualities of different people that we meet in our lives.
