Thabari House remained victorious for the second consecutive year, enhancing their performances in almost all the events in the recently concluded Inter House Boys’ Sports Meet of Hejaaz International School at the Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa.
Aman Azwar – Thabari, Thariq Marikkar – Thabari, Nahthy Hassan Ashar – Khaldun, Abdur Razzak Nilam – Thabari, Rashid Rifkhan – Khaldun and Rahil Adhil Shore – Thabari emerged champs in their respective age categories in the track and field events. The events, karate drill display, parents’ tug–o–war, old boys’ 100m race thrilled the spectators.
The sports meet was open by Principal, Zarina Mohideen Hizbullah with the traditional hoisting of the National Flag, House Flags and the Games Flag.
The school anthem was recited followed by the oath which was taken in unison by the entire school. Director of the School N. M.M. Hizbullah presented the championship shield to Thabari House.
The colourful meet ended with the highly inspired and motivated squads of the respective houses and the prefects’ guild, parading around the stadium to the rhythm of the school band amidst a standing ovation from the parents, old and present boys, staff and well-wishers of the school.
