Organisms

8 July, 2018

There are three kinds of organisms. They are animals, plants and micro-organisms. Organisms have five characteristics - growth, nutrition, respiration, reproduction and movements. Many animals in the world are classified as carnivorous, herbivorous and omnivorous. Most animals can swim, fly, creep, jump, hop, skip, run and walk whereas some can't. Some show many movements. Those animals are sea anemone and coral polyp. There is another organism called ‘plants.’ They are the most valuable things in the world. Plants give us shade, wood, medicine, food and makes the environment cool. All green plants do photosynthesis and give oxygen, gas and glucose to us.

In plants there are roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds and fruits. The plants live in terrestrial, aquatic, mangrove or in coastal areas. There are four kinds of plants. They are trees, plants, shrubs and creepers. Plants have an unlimited growth. There is another type of organism called micro-organisms. We cannot observe micro-organisms through our naked eye. We can observe them through a microscope. There are many micro-organisms such as amoeba, yeast, paramecium, algae, fungi, virus and bacteria. We use micro-organisms to make compost, dairy products and to make alcohol and vinegar.
