Trinity College player Hasitha Boyagoda was adjudged the Observer-Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2018 at its 40th Awards Night. The award was presented by former Sri Lanka Captain Ranjan Madugalle.
The awards ceremony was held at the Hilton Hotel in Colombo recently.
The 41st encounter of the Schoolboy Cricketer Awards will evolve into rewarding talented school boys and girls and welcoming the entry of a Girl's Encounter in the school cricket arena.
This year for the very first time, girls' cricket teams received awards.
At the end of the ceremony the Observer Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer was rebranded as Observer Mobitel Cricketer of the year.
