A book I read recently is The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain. It was first published by James R. Osgood & Co. in 1881. Tom Canty is a pauper who meets Prince Edward and they realize that they resemble each other and decide to exchange roles. Earlier Prince Edward led a comfortable life in the palace and Tom Canty led a downtrodden life in Offal Court. At the end of the novel they exchange roles again.
