Increased benefits of Suraksha insurance policy

The Education Ministry has increased the benefits of the ‘Suraksha’ Insurance Policy, which covers the entire student community.With the new improved benefit scheme, patients of a Government or an Ayurvedic hospital will receive Rs 3,000 daily while Rs 20,000 is offered for OPD treatment.

Besides each student is covered by an insurance cover of Rs 200,000 when hospitalilised.Moreover, at the death of a parent or a guardian, Rs 200,000 is paid. At a death of a student, Rs 150,000 is paid for the funeral. When permanent disability occurs due to an accident, a student will receive an annual compensation of Rs 50,000 - 200,000. Rs. 200,000 is also paid for a student or parent who suffers a serious ailment.
