Dangers of dengue

3 March, 2019

Dengue is a dangerous disease spreading rapidly all over Sri Lanka. It is transmitted to humans by the bite of dengue infected mosquitoes. The sources of the spread of dengue are unclean environments, insanitary conditions in houses, hotels and places where water is stored.

The symptoms of dengue fever are headaches, body aches, joint pains and the loss of appetite. We must take action to stop the breeding of dengue mosquitoes. People must clear garbage, empty tins, coconut shells and polythene bags daily. We must also follow the guidelines given by the health authorities to prevent dengue.
