CH & FC - Reds sets up Junior Rugby Academy

One of Sri Lanka's premier Rugby Sports Clubs, CH & FC - Reds has embarked on a new project to uplift the standard of the sport from junior level by initiating a rugby academy of its own. The project will be overseen by its current head coach, Ronny Ibrahim.

Ronny, a former Kingswoodian needs no introduction to the local rugby arena having produced many champion outfits at school and club level as well as guiding schoolboys and club players who have represented the National team.

The Academy’s primary objective is to provide exposure to the latest skills and techniques where the children can enjoy the game and will be coached by the players from the current CH & FC team.

The CH & FC is also looking forward to train players from lesser known schools free and have already started coaching junior players from St. John's College, Dematagoda. The Academy is also targeting players from International schools which will help promote the game further.

Currently, there are more than 40 players who are attending practices at the picturesque Maitland Crescent premises every Saturday from 7.00 am to 8.30 am.

The Academy management has extended the invitation to other junior rugby players to join the Academy and develop their skills while learning to enjoy the beautiful game. For further information interested parties can contact the Academy Manager on 0714808087.
