21 July, 2019

A repaired and a new look, St. Sebastian’s Church, Katuwapitiya, Negombo, that was damaged in the Easter Sunday bombing, reopens today, July 21, for religious activities. The reopening coincides with the third month since the deadly suicide bombings. The repair work was carried out by the Army. The church will be handed over to the Archbishop Malcom Cardinal Ranjith, who will host a special mass at 8 a.m. Following the mass and religious observances, the foundation stone for a new Sunday school will be laid. A blueprint will also be announced for the homeless in the Katuwapitiya area.
