Rain forests

10 November, 2019

Rain forests are areas characterised by high rainfall. A rain forest can be identified as a tall and big jungle. In our country, there is a famous rain forest named Sinharaja Forest. It is a UNESCO world heritage site.

A rain forest that grows in a tropical region is a tropical rain forest. Amazon and Malaysia rain forests have the largest number of tree species. A rain forest has about 30 million species of plants and animals. Tropical rain forests are located around the equator. The Amazon rainforest is known as Amazonia or the Amazon jungle. The Amazon has over half of the planet’s remaining rainforests.

The Amazonia rain forest is called the lung of the earth as it cleans the atmosphere. So we must protect all our rain forests in our world.
