The High Commissioner of India H.E. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, was the Chief Guest at the twentieth edition of the prestigious Shankar’s International Competition organised annually by the High Commission of India in Colombo at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (formerly Indian Cultural Centre) on November 23, 2019.
Seeing the large turnout of more than 500 young artists from all over Sri Lanka, the High Commissioner complimented parents and teachers for encouraging children to take part in such events which help develop critical thinking and encourage children to explore new ideas and skills.
The competition provided children from all over Sri Lanka a platform to showcase their talents through art work and essays on the topic “Earth is the only home we have, Treasure it”. Here are some highlights and the competitors with their creations.
