Financial statements for 2019 of seven state institutions of the Southern Provincial Council have been asserted with “Clear Opinion” in reviewing the account declarations by the National Audit Office.
A Clear Opinion or an Unmodified Opinion is an independent auditor’s judgment that an institution’s financial statements are properly and correctly presented, without any identified exceptions, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
The seven provincial state institutions which were awarded the certification include Southern Province Governor’s Secretariat, Provincial Council Secretariat, Provincial Fisheries Ministry, Provincial Planning Secretariat, Provincial Internal Audit Department, Welivitiya Divitura Pradeshiya Sabha and Cultural Fund of Provincial Cultural and Art Affairs Ministry.
The institutions were felicitated at a function at the Southern Province Chief Secretariat under the patronage of Southern Province Governor Dr. Willie Gamage.
The heads of the institutions and departments were awarded certificates of commendation.
Southern Province Chief Secretary R.C.De Zoysa, Assistant Auditor of National Audit Office M.K.D.Renuka Weliwitiya and officials of the Provincial Council participated.
