My country is Sri Lanka. It is a small but beautiful island in the Indian ocean. Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte is the administrative capital of my country. Sri Lanka has a population of over 20 million people. There are nine provinces in Sri Lanka. In ancient times Sri Lanka was known as the Granary of the East as well as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean.
My country has a hot and wet climate because it is situated close to the equator. Many foreigners come to my country to see its beauty. My country is fertile. Therefore, many kinds of crops grow. Paddy is the main crop grown in many parts of my country. I am proud of the country.
