York International School, Kadawatha celebrates its 9th anniversary

York International School, Kadawatha celebrated their its 9th Anniversary in a unique way on January 6, 2021. A religious ceremony consisting of religious rituals of all faiths was conducted in the school auditorium, in keeping with strict accordance to the Government’s Covid-19 guidelines. Seth pirith chanting with the participation of the Ranmuthugala Viharadhipathi, Ven. Kelaniye Sudamma Thera, was held along with Christian prayers by Rev. Father Julius, Parish Priest Eldeniya, Hindu rituals by Swami Kumar of Sri Baddrakali Amman Kovil - Narahenpita and Islamic prayers by Moulavi Nazar of Akbar town Enderamulla, Wattala Islamic mosque to seek blessings on this occasion.

The school has grown as an institution commendably. Although the Covid-19 pandemic has placed much pressure on the education sector in Sri Lanka, the York International School does its very best to make sure that students are not affected by the current circumstances. Virtual classes and extra-curricular activities are conducted through Zoom. The school keeps its students happy and satisfied during the pandemic, with a variety of activities.

The Chairman of York International School and York Graduate Campus, Rohan Perera, the Directors of York International Group Deshan Perera and Roshane Perera as well as the Principal of York International School, Mrs. Wathsala Senanayake participated in the religious event which was streamed live on Facebook. Teachers, prefects and non-academic staff too participated at the event.
