My favourite flower is the lotus. It is a beautiful flower. We can see it in ponds, lakes and tanks. They come only in red and white. It has a long stem which rises up from the water.
The lotus has round leaves and water does not collect on them. Lotus flowers bloom in the morning and spread a great fragrance. Many insects such as bees, bumble bees and butterflies come to lotus flowers to suck nectar.
I use these flowers for religious activities such as offering them to the Buddha. The Hindus make lotus garlands for their gods. Lotus flowers are used for decorations too.
However, I like the lotus for its beauty and fragrance.
