The Lions Club of Gampaha teamed up with two professional counsellors to conduct an online counselling session via Zoom for children affected by the pandemic.
The counsellors were Lion Neville Karunarathne and Prashanti Peripanayagam.
The Chief Guest was District 306 B2 Governor Lion Kaushal Rajapaksha.
The program was organised by Gampaha City Club President Lion Shyamali Athukorala and presented by Regional Chairperson Lion Lalith Ranatunga.
The children were educated about things such as the causes of depression and anxiety, the negative effects of excessive consumption of online media and how to minimise them and strengthening parent-child relationships.
The children were highly involved in the project with over 280 participants.
It was a very successful project and the Lions Club is proud to have served the community well.
