Sigirya is a huge rock fortress in Matale district in the Central Province. It was built by King Kashyapa.
Sigirya has been named as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Sri Lankans and foreigners visit Sigiriya.There are many springs and water gardens around the rock fortress.
There is a Lion’s Gate, a Mirror Wall and beautiful frescoes at Sigiriya. They were painted using natural substances.
The view from the top of the rock is amazing. Sigiriya is one of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka.
