As a start for many other expeditions to help save the blue planet, the Prefects’ Guild of Louvre College, Pannipitiya conducted a Beach clean pp at the Mount-Lavinia beach on August 29. The event was a small step to avert the crisis in the ocean.
The initiatives were taken by the Director Principal, Reginald Seneviratne and the teachers-in-charge, to encourage students to take on active roles in protecting the environment. The main objective of the Beach clean up was to educate young students on social responsibilities and the impact of a clean and healthy environment.
The event was successfully conducted with the aid of the Dehiwala-Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council, the Development Coastal Conservation and the Mount Lavinia police.
The Board of Prefects express its sincere thanks to the sectional heads, teachers and parents for extending a helping hand to make this event a success.
