The Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations of York International School, Kadawatha was held at the school premises recently, under the patronage of the Principal, Kanchana Dassanayake.
The academic and non-academic staff also participated in this traditional event. The Chairman of York Schools and Graduate Campus, Rohan Perera along with the CEO York Graduate campus, Rohan L. Perera, the teacher trainer, Shamila Bandara and the Principal York International School, Sapugaskanda, Surandhi Mallawarachchi were present.
The program was handled by Krishantha Seram, a lecturer of the University of Performing Arts along with Kethaki Pehesarani.
All customs and rituals of the New Year celebrations were performed and a range of New Year games by students, academic and non-academic staff and parents were also held.
