Goodbye rain

30 July, 2023

It started to rain. In minutes, it was raining cats and dogs. I thought for a moment. I had no time to waste.

I stepped into the rain. Just then, I stepped into a gigantic paddle which splashed on my entire body. I didn’t mind because when I was little, I would always jump and splash around in the big muddy puddles. So, when I got a taste of my childhood again, I took the chance and became the child I used to be.

I felt so good and so free. Free as a bird, I would say. There was no one to judge me, no one to tell me what to do or boss me around, just I, the rain and the puddles. Whenever, I looked up, I could see the rain and drops falling down, smiling at me as if they wanted to play with me. It made me feel like I am not alone. Then, a few hours later, I finished playing with my friends as my old self again.

Sadly, and unfortunately, the rain stopped. I was not sad though. I was just so happy to travel back in time, to be free and to be with the rain and my puddles.

Being with them really made me feel free from all the buzz in the city. Well, what can I say? Friends have to leave you at some point.

But, one thing I do know is, that the rain and the muddy pebbles will always come back.

Good friends are like stars,

You don’t always see them,

But you know they are

always there.

Until then, goodbye rain.
