Penguins

Penguins live in some of the coldest places on Earth, in a land of snow and ice.

But you can also find penguins on sunny beaches and on grassy lands by clear blue seas. There are nearly twenty different varieties of penguins. They might come in different sizes, but they all have the same shape. They have long bodies and stumpy little legs.

Many birds can fly but not penguins. This is because their wings are too small for flying and their bodies are too heavy to get off the ground. Penguins use their wings for swimming instead of flying.
