The Thalawathugoda Ganelanda Rajamaha Vihara, Gemunu Sri Sadaham English Medium Dhamma School was established on February 11, 2006. At the beginning, there were five teachers and fifty students. Currently, there are more than three-hundred students and fifteen experienced teachers. Ven. Dr. Gemunupura Somawansha Thera is the principal.

The Dhamma school which was initially started with Grades one, two, three, and four now conducts classes from Grade one to the Dharmacharya Grade. The main aim of the Dhamma School is not to limit Dhamma education only to books and to bring Dhamma into practical life as well. Many programs are held every year with this aim. Students from Grade five to Grade 11 are referred for the Y.M.B.A. examination, while students are also referred for the Dhamma school final Grade and the Dharmachara examination.

The Dhamma School is proud to have students pass exams with excellent results. There have been many other excellent achievements by the Dhamma school students.

The Dhamma School has been running online continuously despite the Covid pandemic. The award ceremony was held on February 10, 2024 for the year 2023 and various items were held to develop the talents of the children.

The Gemunu Sri Sadaham English Media Dhamma School celebrated its eighteenth anniversary this year. This is a pictorial record of the highlights at the event.
