A verse of the Filter Bubbled Soul

Words: Sachin Galhengoda

In a world of screens, where pixels play,
21Lives one confined, in a filtered way.
A soul ensnared within a digital haze,
Where echo chambers dictate their days.

They navigate the cyberspace,
In a personalized, algorithmic embrace.
Content curated, tailored just right,
Shielding them from dissent’s piercing light.

Within their bubble, they find solace sweet,
Where every opinion is a comfortable seat.
No need to challenge, no need to stray,
Their beliefs affirmed, day after day.

Yet deep within, a whisper stirs,
A longing for truth, for varied words.
But fear holds tight, to the familiar grip,
Afraid to shatter the bubble’s scripted script.

Oh, filter bubbled soul, do you dare,
To break free from the digital snare?
To seek out voices, both near and far,
And embrace the richness of viewpoints’ star?

For beyond the bubble, lies a world untamed,
Where diversity thrives, and perspectives unchained.
Step out, dear soul, into the unknown,
And let your spirit, once more, roam.

In the filter bubble’s realm, they dwell alone,
A captive of algorithms, their thoughts but clones.
Surrounded by echoes of their own design,
Their world shrinks smaller, with every online sign.

They scroll through feeds, where views are aligned,
No dissenting voices, no challenges to find.
Comforted by the illusion of consensus, they stay,
Unaware of the diverse world slipping away.

In this digital haven, opinions are bespoke,
Yet, beneath the surface, a longing awoke.
For beyond the curated content’s facade,
Lies a hunger for truths not served on demand.

Yearning to burst from this confined sphere,
To breathe in perspectives, both far and near.
But fear of the unknown, of what lies outside,
Keeps them ensnared in their filtered ride.

Oh, filter bubbled soul, can you break free,
From the confines of your algorithmic spree?
Embrace the richness of life’s varied stream,
And shatter the illusion of your digital dream
