Two heavyweight candidates will contest the top post when the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka (NFSL) conducts its election on May 30.
Nominations closed on April 22 and the two who have submitted their names to contest the top post are former national player and president Tamara Dharmakeerthi Herath and the incumbent president Lakshmi Victoria. Both of them are well known to have worked hard to uplift the standard of the game.
However, the current membership will know who will be worthy of being elected and will work for the betterment of the game. The third candidate is Olivia Gamage who has also been a netball president before.
Any objections to the nominations of the NFSL election will be studied and the final list of names will be officially announced on May 30.
Members of 32 District Associations affiliated to the NFSL will cast their vote to elect the new office bearers. A deputy president and four vice presidents a secretary, assistant secretary, treasurer and assistant treasurer and a tournament secretary will be elected.
The three-member netball Elections Committee is headed by retired High Court Judge Wimal Nambuwasam (Chairman) and the other two members are C. Rathnamudali and Padmajina Siriwardana.

Treasurer: (1) MJKS Jayasooriya and PJ Horanage
