Speaking at the launch Indika Perera, Head of Sales & Marketing, Ceylon Sanctuaries (Pvt) Limited said, “We are excited about the launch of such a unique value offering to both our local and foreign clients. Where guests can enjoy and experience the different cultures of Sri Lanka, giving them a unique value offering. In Kaduwela the birthplace of the Sri Lankan martial art “Angampora” we have a property that spans over 17 acres and in the hill country of Nuwara Eliya, we have a picturesque property which is in the lap of tea country. Our main focus is to provide an experiential holiday to our guests, which blends local adventures, culture and luxury.”

The boutique hotel is located in a working rubber plantation where guests can experience the process of rubber tapping and collection. The Kaduwela property boast of a rich history, as it is where the Sinhala Kingdoms of Kotte and Seethawaka reigned. The famous Balum Gala (a large rock formation) is located within the premise and is known in history as one of the lookout points for the Seethawaka Kingdom. With a spectacular view, the guests can either go on an excursion or indulge in a picnic overlooking the city of Colombo and on a clear day they can catch a glimpse of the venerated mountain, Adams Peak (Siripada) in the distance. There are five guest rooms and one suite, with room sizes starting from 25 square meters.

The spacious villa boasts of six charming rooms and lush gardens filled with blossoming flora and fauna, and a distinctly personal approach to service. The villa carries Sinhala cinema memorabilia throughout, including movie reels and video cameras, transporting you to the world of film.

Sanctuary Hill is the ideal location to completely lose yourself in the world of yesteryear; as you wander through the Island’s tea country and learn the intricate details that go into making the perfect cup of tea. Guest can also visit one of the many strawberry farms in the region and handpick strawberries for their indulgence.
