Sri Lanka took part in the 24th PRODEXPO International Exhibition in Moscow from February 6 to 10. It is the largest annual specialized exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe, focussing on food, beverages and raw materials.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia organized three stands with the support of the Sri Lanka Tea Board and the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.

On the first day of the exhibition, Minister of Plantation Industries, Navin Dissanayake, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tea Board, Rohan Pethiyagoda and Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, Dr. Saman Weerasinghe opened Sri Lanka’s stands and met representatives of Sri Lankan companies participating in the exhibition. The exhibition is known to be a great and efficient platform to establish direct business connections between Russian and Sri Lankan companies and to improve bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries in general.
