The Grand launches ‘Marry Me’

Romance, heritage and culinary craftsmanship will all be on offer to discerning couples who wish to express their commitment and devotion to that significant other, in the most explicit way one can imagine. ‘Marry Me’ is a finely crafted dessert using an exotic array of ingredients, created by Master Chef Viraj Jayaratne to commemorate his contribution of 25 years to the culinary field .

The launch of this one of a kind experience will happen at the Front Lawn of the Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya where, over the last 150 years, many pretty ladies and hopeful gentleman have expressed their most exquisite and private emotions to each other.

This opportunity is now open to all, from 3rd January 2018 at any location at the Grand Hotel. What better way to get the ball rolling than to have probably one of the most loved couples in Sri Lanka, Kumar Sangakkara and Yehali to launch this historic event. ‘Marry Me’ - the most expensive artistic dessert is priced at Rs. 3.8 million. Complete with the famed Valrhona chocolate from Madagascar, the Cherry Jubilee which was served at the Grand as far back as 1897, all skillfully crafted with edible gold and silver, and to top it all, a precious stone.
