Come the month of July and the Moratuwa Arts Forum move into their presentation of Down Memory Lane. The date of the event is July 9 at the Randiya Hotel in Moratuwa. The music will be provided by the versatile Nalin and the Star Combination – a band that enjoys considerable success on the Sri Lankan music scene.
The programme for the evening will comprise oldies, American cowboy songs, well loved plantation songs and songs from the dixie land world of music. That’s not all. There will be the negro spirituals, calypso’s, songs from the 60s to the 90s and most of all a host of popular Sinhala favourites. According to Priya Peiris and Laksiri Fernando the joint project chairman, this year Down Memory Lane will have many attractions for music lovers.
