Sri Lankan artists exhibit in India

‘Bonding Colours’ a painting exhibition by a Sri Lankan artist and art instructor duo will be held at Shantiniketan, Calcutta, in India, on August 19 and 20.

More than 40 paintings by Kouwshigan and his art student Natheesh Sivakumar will be displayed reflecting the culture of India and Sri Lanka, at the exhibition.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Prof. Jogen Chowdhury, Former Principal and H.O. D Painting, Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, Prof Emeritus Visva-Bharati, Member Rajya Sabha Parliament of India on August 19 at 11.30 am.

Artists Kouwshigan and his student Natheesh (on left) are considered to be the first from Sri Lanka to present an art exhibition at Shantiniketan, Calcutta which was founded by the great Bengali poet Shri. Rabindranath Tagore.
