...of punch lines and fables

“Nothing is made up; everything is just real” may well be your comment too after you walk out at the conclusion of the performance of the stand-up comedian Kumar from Singapore. It’s not always that you get an opportunity to enjoy such a show which will be staged at the Hilton, Colombo on Sunday March 17. The proceeds will go towards ‘Wheels for Wheels,’ according to the organisers.

Considered to be one of South East Asia’s “respected performing artiste”, Kumar’s script for the evening will amaze the audience. Put together by him his performance has the uncanny knack of creating excitement with a mix of brand of humour”.

It is not every day that Sri Lankan audiences have the opportunity of enjoying a standup comedian and that too the well known Kumar of Kumarsutra fame. He’s been on stage for the past 30 years and his long journey has helped him to perfect his artistry. His performance on stage will be managed and produced by Imran Packeer Saibo’s Classic Funtime. Imran needs no introduction to Sri Lankan theatre and music lovers. Ever since he produced the Observer Golden Clef Awards Shows his popularity has escalated, and there’s no denying that ‘Kumarsutra’ will achieve the popularity that it richly deserves.
