Ceylinco Life was instrumental in the collection of over 1,200 units of blood for the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) last year, through a series of countrywide donation camps which concluded in December.
The 15 blood donation camps facilitated by Ceylinco Life last year were part of the Company’s celebration of 15 consecutive years of market leadership, a feat it achieved at the end of 2018, a company spokesman said.
This was the first time Ceylinco Life organised camps of this nature to engage with a cross section of people in different regions of Sri Lanka to collect blood for the NBTS. Over 1,625 people attended these camps and 1,226 of them donated blood.
Conducted in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service, the initiative invited all stakeholders to participate. As a result, each location saw staff of Ceylinco Life, customers, friends and families of employees, suppliers, opinion leaders in society and others queuing up to donate blood for the cause.

The blood donation camps were held at the Ceylinco Life Head Office, and in Anuradhapura, Bandarawela, Batticaloa, Chilaw, Galle, Gampaha, Horana, Jaffna, Kandy, Kurunegala, Matara, Negombo, Ratnapura and Trincomalee.
