The two Peterites Santhush Gunatileka , Lakshina Rodrigo and Isipathana’s Sanjula Abeywickrema were the three leading contenders for the Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer title 2017 at the end of the 23rd week count.
Gunatileka and Rodrigo were top performers for the Peterites during the school cricket season while Sanjula Abeywickrema of Isipathana also was among the runs for his school. The three cornered tussle was prevailing some time.
In division two St. Anne’s Kurunegala’s Piyumal Sinhawansa who won the division two contest last year is leadingin this year’s contest as well , while Rajitha Basnayake of Bamdarawela Central is leading in the division 111 competition.
