Peterite Sahin Silva who got off to a bright start from the beginning of the contest has been able maintain his top spot for further period when he received the highest number of votes from his favorite cricketing fraternity this week. With this high voting at present Sachin has a total of 826 votes to be on a higher ranking this season.

He is followed by Dellon Peiris of S. Thomas’ College mount Lavinia with 536 votes. The other young cricketers who have come on to the scene are Sanjula Abeywickrama of Isipathana College and Santhus Gunatillke of St. Peters College Colombo reaching the three figure mark on voting to be placed at third and fourth positions. However the outstation cricketers have not gained the expected response from cricket fans this season.

But the organizers expect with many weeks ahead they too will get the support from their fans. The only outstation schoolboy cricketers who have received votes up to date are from Galle and Ambalangoda. They are Richmond’s Sadun Mendis and Dinuka Dilshan of Dharmasoka College.
