The 18th Battle of the Heroes between Thellipalai Mahajana and Kandarodai Skandavarodaya ended in a drab draw at the formers ground yesterday.
Gaining a slender a lead of just 12 runs in the first innings Skandavarodaya toiled hard in the second innings to save the game. They were sitting pretty well at 98 for 4 but lost their last four wickets 6 wickets for the addition of 41 runs to be all out for 139.
K. Niharjan the opener was the only batsman to show resistance to score 34 runs in 120 balls. None of the other batsman could reach 20 runs. Sujeeban bowled well to capture 5 for 30 in 14 overs which included 7 maidens.
Earlier in the day Mahajana resuming from their overnight score of 93 for 2, went on to reach 225 all out. N. Janushan added 25 runs to his overnight score to complete a fine half century 57.
Skipper Thayustan (29), M. Sujeepan (28) were other main scorers. S. Dilaxan scalped 3 wickets while S. Sobihan, S. Dansan and A. Thanushan bagged 2 wickets each.
