Aussie junior cricketers end tour of Sri Lanka

A team of Australian cricketers from an institute in Melbourne completes a 12-day tour of Sri Lanka organized by Crusader Sports and Leisure Tours whose co-founder and director is former Sri Lanka A leg spinner Suranjith Silva who is also a qualified coach in Melbourne.

They Aussie junior cricketers practiced at the P. Sara Oval and Katunayake FTZ ground.

They played friendly matches against local teams at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Pallekele Stadium, Galle Stadium, Kurunegala Welagedera Stadium and Colts ground.

“Our aim was to give more exposure and match practice for these young cricketers in these conditions here.

Two former Sri Lankan cricketers Nuwan Soyza and Farveez Maharoof shared their experiences with these young cricketers and it was very important for them,” said Suranjith Silva.

“The youngsters really enjoyed this tour and the experience gained. Sri Lanka Cricket, umpires and ground staff gave their maximum support for the success of this tour,”.

The team is scheduled to leave today.
