Maliyadeva’s under-19 girls team defeated Thaabit Ahmed Football Academy 2-0 to carry away the ATA soccer title at the Baddegana Football Training Centre ground yesterday.
Maliyadeva’s OAM Senadeera was declared as the player of the tournament.
The organizers invited under-16 and 14 teams from all parts of the country to participate in this tourney while schools from Jaffna and Mannar pulled out.
Prior to the matches a training program was conducted by professional German female coaches for coaches of the participating teams.
Ambassador of the Federal Republic Germany John Rohde was the chief guest and presented the awards.
