Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation with a tally of 160 points clinched the overall Championship on the final day of the ‘Battle of the Giants Sports Festival’ concluded at the Air Force ground (Rifle Green) in Colombo yesterday.
DFCC Bank and ANCL (LakeHouse) took the second and third slots with 160 and 135 points respectively.
Hilton Hotel was the other team in the fray.
Badminton, table tennis, cricket, carrom, Elle, netball, volleyball and football were contested by the teams.
DFCC Bank ‘B’ defeated ANCL (Lake House) in the cricket semi final while Hilton Hotel beat DFCC ‘A’ in the other semi final.
The final between DFCC Bank B and Hilton Hotel was interrupted by rain and was restricted to a three-over game.DFCC under soggy conditions managed to defeat their opponents Hilton to clinch the title.
Carromites from Lake House were outstanding winning all their four Divisions inclusive of the women’s division.
