Golden Birds SC emerged champions in the women’s category of the Dialog President’s Cup volleyball tournament when they beat Ratnapala SC Mahauswewa by three sets to one in the final that was played at the National Youth Services Council courts in Maharagama yesterday.
Golden Birds took the first two sets on 25-19, 25-21 but Ratnapala SC came back in the third set to win 30-28 in a long and grueling game.
Golden Birds SC also managed to win the fourth set narrowly by 25 points to 23
