The Under-16 Trinity squad was made up of Shrayan Sathiskumar, MI Shabdeen Ahamed, D. Thomas, DH Kumarawanse, Achintha Jayasena, TS Wickramanayake, Buwenaka Dissanayake, Udyan Wijekoon, Shan Alhaf, Akil Bandara, Ramindu Wanasinghe, Nisith Kumarasinghe, Murad Raizan, Nithya Samaraweera, Hamza Abdeen, Tervin Udukumbura, Dinel Sooriyabandara, Bilal Akbar, Deshaka Pallegedera, Nilanga Meegakumbura, Warqid Ali, Minula Nandinu, Sanul Withirekumbura, Gavishka Karunaratne, Yazir Ahamed, Mindinu Dissanayake, DN Kurukuwansha, Maduranga de Silva and M.A. Riffai
Trinity College under-16 rugby team led by Murad Raizan, a fine leader in the making, was able to emerge on top in this age category.
Raizan led the side to remain unbeaten, with seven wins from seven games.
They beat S. Thomas College 17-0, St. Josephs’ College 12-5, Kingswood College 14-5, Vidyartha College 17-5, Dharmaraja College 12-5, Sri Sumangala College 31-0 and Royal College 19-6 respectively.
Their success so far has been attributed to their coach Priyantha Gunaratne for guiding them along with master in charge Subash Wijewardana for giving his fullest support with the backing of the principal Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara.
