Joes bag Western Province basketball title beating Ananda

St. Joseph’s College after a fine display of basketball emerged undisputed Champions in the Western Province National Schools Tournament, scoring an emphatic victory over Ananda College in the final.

The tournament was conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association for boys and girls and was revived after a lapse of three years. The Joes on their way to the final defeated D.S Senanayake College 48/36 in the preliminaries. In the final round of matches they defeated Lyceum International School Nugegoda 41/31 (quarter finals) and Lyceum International School Wattala 43/42 (semi finals).

In the final they beat and Ananda College 67/41.
