Superstition

23 December, 2018

Hearing the ominous sound,
‘chick’, ‘chick’, ‘chick’,
that went on repeating
just for seconds
made by the house gecko a tiny creature
when I was about to leave home
nearly stepping on to the compound
hesitated for a moment
thinking what that was upto.
At the very moment
a second thought
surfaced onto my mind
commanded me,
“not to step down now
take your step back
wait for a while
until an auspicious time dawns
and then exit”.
Subsequently it warned me,
if I disregard it,
I would have to face
ominous effects for the day.
In no time
In a chain of thoughts
that voice, opposing above,
what a rubbish!
What a nonsense! What a mess!
It is.
Being optimisticI vehemently
condemned the superstitious
thoughts
determined to step down
thinking,
it would be a nice day for me.
