A harsh storm
Swept across the island
Ravaging priceless resources
Human, physical and spiritual
Leaving sorrows, scars of pain:
Anger, hatred and humiliation,
It is the bounden duty
Of all lawful citizens
To wait with conditionless patience,
Irrespective of caste and creed
At this harshly critical moment
To let the dutiful authorities
To take due precautions
And safeguard all lives,
And make the island again see
The sun of hope and joy
Moving across “The Land of the Sun.”
