Admittedly
I light-heartedly
My advanced age
Having recently
Reached a milestone
Celebrating in solitude
Without customary fanfare
As it liberally allows me
A rare privilege
Of withdrawing from
Hitherto accustomed
Competitive and equally hectic
Lifestyle, instead now I have found
My much desired liberation
Freeing from all the shackles
That up to now heartlessly imprisoned me
Thus emboldened,
I undertake a new kind of voyage
Without failing to hold
Dearly to heart-felt reflections
Of nostalgic and fond memories
Suddenly and quite unexpectedly
Inundating me with a rapturous
Feeling of ecstatic joy
